AI assist drafts. You decide. Nothing it proposes is written to your project until you accept it, which is the only arrangement worth having on a document a client signs off.

The quick template

On New project, describe the build in a sentence or two: "four bedroom two and a half bath coastal build, quartz kitchen, tile showers, no basement." You get a proposed section and item scaffold back in one pass.

Review it before accepting. It is good at remembering the categories people forget, like low voltage drops and gutter guards, and it does not know your local code or your client's budget.

The chat workspace

Inside a project, the AI workspace is a conversation next to your sheet. Ask it to add a section, expand a room, or suggest the items typically missing from a scope like yours. Proposed changes arrive as a reviewable set rather than being applied behind your back.

What it will and will not fill

It fills structure and identity: sections, item names, sensible units of measure, and typical manufacturers where a category has obvious ones.

It proposes per line allowances only on unpriced placeholder items, so it never overwrites a real number you entered.

It does not invent model numbers or prices for products it cannot see. Use smart import, the clipper, or camera capture for that, all of which read a real product page or label.

Settings

AI behaviour lives under Settings, on the AI tab. That is where you turn assist off entirely if you would rather work without it.

Usage limits

AI drafting is metered per month and the allowance goes up with the plan. Free accounts do not include it. Embedding and search elsewhere in the app do not consume this allowance; only drafting does. See pricing for the current numbers.
