Builders take recommendations from other builders and almost nowhere else. That is the whole reason this exists.
Find your link
Settings has a Refer a builder section. Your referral code is generated once and does not change, so a link you gave somebody last year still works.
Copy the link and send it however you normally send things.
What the other person sees
They land on a page that names you as the referrer and then goes to sign up as normal. There is nothing extra for them to do and no code to remember.
How the credit works
The referral is attributed when they create their account through your link. The credit lands when they actually subscribe to a paid plan, not at signup.
It is mutual: you both get a credit toward your next invoice. It applies as account credit, so it comes off what you are billed rather than arriving as a payment.
The rules, plainly
A person can be referred once. If somebody signs up through two different links, the first one counts.
You cannot refer yourself, and a credit only exists once there is a real subscription behind it.
Credits apply to your next invoice. They are not cash and they are not paid out.
Checking on it
The Settings section shows your referrals and where each one is: signed up, or subscribed and credited.
Availability
Referrals are available on every plan, free included. You do not have to be paying to refer somebody, and the credit is waiting on your account if you upgrade later.
