A PDF attachment is out of date the moment you send it. A share link is the same branded document, live, in a browser, with nothing for the client to install or sign into.
Turn it on
Open the project and enable sharing. The link appears immediately, next to a copy button and a button that emails it to the client on file.
The client opens it and sees the spec sheet: your branding, the sections, the items, and the money you have chosen to show. Read only. They cannot edit anything.
What is on the page
Your company name and logo, the project name, the client, and the address. Then the sections, the items with their identity fields and status, and the totals.
What is never on the page: your unit costs, your markup, and your projected profit. That fence is enforced on the server, not by hiding a column.
It stays live
The client is looking at the current sheet, not a copy. Change an item and their next refresh shows it. There is no re-send step and no version confusion.
If you want a frozen artifact instead, that is what a PDF export, a selections packet, or a signed approval is for.
Copy, email, rotate
Copy puts the link on your clipboard. Email the link sends it to the client address on the project, so you do not have to leave the app to hand it over.
Rotate mints a new link and stops the old one from resolving. Use it if a link got forwarded somewhere it should not have, or when a job changes hands.
Disable turns sharing off entirely. The link stops working until you turn it back on, at which point it is a new link.
The link is unguessable, not secret
Tokens are long and random, so nobody finds one by trying. But anybody holding the link can open it, and search engines are told not to index these pages.
Treat it like a link you texted somebody. Fine for a spec sheet. Rotate it when in doubt.
What the client can do from there
If you have enabled it, they can comment on specific items and sections, browse tiers if you have built them, react to selection boards, formally approve the sheet, and sign a change order. Each of those has its own article.
