Products and the library

The product library

Save the products you specify repeatedly, then insert them into any project without retyping. Editing a library product never changes a spec sheet you already sent.

Updated July 25, 2026 · 2 min read

You specify the same undermount sink on half your jobs. The library is where it lives so you enter it once.

What a product holds

Name, manufacturer, model or SKU, finish or color, size and dimensions, supplier, unit of measure, notes, an image, and the source link it came from. Products can also carry a unit cost, which feeds the internal profit lens.

Insert one into a project

From a section in the spec editor, use Insert from library. Search by name or manufacturer, pick the product, and the row fills in.

Search matches by meaning as well as by keyword, so "matte black kitchen faucet" can find the right product even when the product's own words are different. Exact names still rank first.

When you insert a library product into a spec sheet, the fields are copied onto the item. The item also remembers which product it came from, but the text on the item is its own.

That is deliberate. Correcting a typo in a library product, changing its supplier, or deleting it entirely does not reach backwards into a spec sheet you already handed a client. A document you sent stays the document you sent.

If you want an item updated to match a changed product, re-insert it.

Organize with folders

Products live in a two level folder tree with the main folders in a sidebar. Imports arrive with a suggested folder already filled in, so a batch of ten links can file itself.

Getting products in

There are four ways in, and none of them is typing.

Paste a product URL and let smart import read the page. Paste up to ten at once. Clip the page you are already looking at with the browser extension. Photograph a box, a label, or a showroom tag with your phone.

Each has its own article.

Limits by plan

The library starts on Pro. Free and Starter accounts can spec projects normally, they just do not carry saved products between them. The number you can keep goes up from Pro to Unlimited. See pricing for the current numbers.
